Samira wins an award and Majida glows in Tatwan

Moroccan artist Samira Saeed was awarded this year’s “Al Rabab Al Thahbi” (Golden Arab Guitar) award.  samira


  The award ceremony, which drew over 10,000 fans, was held in the Moroccan city, Tatwan.


 According to the London daily Elaph, the award, created by Hasan Mikri, the president of the National Music Committee in Morocco has been presented to many Moroccan artists. The “Al Rabab Al Thahabi” award was launched in 2001, and every year it is given to a different Moroccan artist. 

 

 Samira announced that she is very pleased with the award, which has given her more confidence as a music artist. Such an award will encourage her to give more to her fans and to be more creative, said Samira.


 Samira’s concert lasted for three hours and she sang a great collection of her songs.  There was a great dynamic between her and her fans.


 The famous Lebanese artist Majida Al Roumi was also present at the award ceremony.  She also sang for three hours, donning a traditional Moroccan dress for the happy occasion.  The audience was mainly women.
