Great Syrian singer George Al Wasoof was welcomed by a great number of loyal fans at the Beirut airport after the misery he faced in Sweden. Al Wasoof was arrested while staying at the Sheraton hotel before hosting a live concert for the opening of large Arabic restaurant there.

 At the airport many cars holding Al Wasoof’s pictures were waiting for him outside and fans were sitting on the sides of roads waiting to see their beloved singer.

There were representatives from ‘Rotana’ Production Company present at the airport like Toni Saman and Mahmoud Mousa from the art affairs management, broadcaster Jomanah Bo Eid, Sharbal Damood from concerts management and many others. The numbers of journalists who came to see Al Wasoof were just like the fans waiting outside.

 According to the London daily Elaph, inside the airport the co-host Nishan, director Walid Nasif, and composer Haitham Ziad also came to see Al Wasoof.

Moments after the arrival of Al Wasoof’s sons Hatem and George all the journalists were asked to leave and head to the room where a conference was about to start for Al Wasoof.

 Al Wasoof took a short while to arrive and once he got hold of the microphone he blamed the media for trying to convict him especially “Al Arabia” channel where they were brining the news of his arrest constantly on their channel. He was also mad at the press personals that were piling up beside the Syrian embassy in Sweden, yet he thanks the embassy for standing by his side. He also thanked everyone who asked and was concerned about him. Al Wasoof made sure that as for his arrest the page has been turned and that he is innocent.
