Who Discovered Radio Waves?
Posted: 28-06-2007 , 00:45 GMT

"I do not think that the wireless waves I have discovered will have any practical application."

The unit of frequency for waves, Hertz, is named after the German physicist Heinrich Hertz (1857-1894). The unit is used for sound waves, and also for other waves, such as radio and light waves.

Hertz was the first scientist to make radio waves in a laboratory experiment. Unfortunately Hertz died before he could expand his work and make radio into a practical form of communication.
