Can Flying Squirrels Actually Fly?
Posted: 10-09-2007 , 20:25 GMT

Of course not, the flying squirrels actually glide some distance from tree to tree. After a flying squirrel leaps into the air, it stretches out the skin flaps at the sides of its body. These flaps work like a parachute and help the squirrel to gently glide down from one branch to another.
