A prairie dog is not a dog at all but a type of rodent like mice. Prairie dogs live in North America in family groups that usually include one male adult with several females and their young.
Each family (or coterie) makes a burrow of connecting chambers and tunnels. Different families live close to each other in huge burrows known as town. © 2007 Al Bawaba (www.albawaba.com) |
