Legend says that around 2737 BC the Emperor of China, Shang Yeng, ordered his subjects to drink nothing but boiled water for their health. One day, leaves from a nearby tree fell into his own simmering water and Shang Yeng was delighted by his new drink. During the Ming Dynasty in China, tea was used as money. A good horse would cost around 68 kg of tea.
