Legend says that the stimulating qualities of coffee were discovered by a goat herder in Yemen. This goat herder noticed that after eating the red fruit of the coffee bush his goats would not sleep at night.
Coffee was drunk in Eden in 1420, it spread to Syria and Turkey and by 1615 coffee had reached Venice and coffee houses became popular in the 18th century.
