Floppy disks are used all over the world and they were invented in 1950 at the Imperial University in Tokyo by Doctor Yoshiro Nakamats. He granted the sales licence for the floppy disk to IBM.

Mr. Nakamats is an inventor who boasts having around 2360 patents for different kinds of objects as diverse as golf clubs and loudspeakers.
