Cat’s-eyes are those reflecting studs in the middle of roads that help people driving in the night.
They were designed by Percy Shaw of Halifax in Yorkshire, and were first used in April 1934 near Bradford. They have a self-cleaning mechanism when pressed down so that they remain bright. © 2005 Al Bawaba (www.albawaba.com) |
