Who invented the toothbrush?
Posted: 24-01-2006 , 10:38 GMT

The first appearance for a toothbrush was at the end of the 15th century in a Chinese painting. It only appeared in Europe in the 17th century.

Nylon toothbrushes as we know them today were manufactured by Du Pont and appeared in the United States in 1938.

The first patent for an electric toothbrush dates back to 1908, but the idea did not become popular until the 1930s.
