Dynamite was born in 1866 by accident. During one of Alfred Nobel’s many experiments Nitroglycerine from a broken flask was absorbed by kieselguhr, a form of clay used as an insulating substance.
Alfred discovered that even though the Nitroglycerine was absorbed it still kept its explosive qualities but was now more stable and a lot easier to handle and carry.
