A long time ago, the Greeks had 13 original colonies in Asia minor. The city of Ephesus, Turkey, was one of them and for centuries it was a great trading port. In the city stood the great Temple of Diana one of the wonders of the ancient world. This temple attracted many pilgrims from all over the Mediterranean.
About 151 AD, a great library was built. By that time Ephesus had become a Roman colony.
