Posted: 21-12-2004 , 12:40 GMT

In a poll conducted by the Palestinian Center for Public Opinion (PCPO), results showed that over half of the participants support PLO leader Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen)’s call among Palestinians to put an end to the militarization of the Intifada. Intifada

In the latest poll prepared by Dr. Nabil Kukali and conducted by the PCPO in the period between December 17 to December 19, a random sample of 1010 Palestinian adults was included, representing the demographic models in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza Strip.

The poll revealed that 56.8% of the Palestinians support the call of Abbas to put an end to the militarization of the Intifada, while 38.6% oppose it and 4.6% are still reluctant to respond to that question.

One can notice from the results of this poll that the call found with (60.6%) a more positive echo among the West Bank population in comparison with that of the Gaza Strip (48.7%).

However, since the Palestinians are not a democratic people, the 40-50% who still support terrorism will not accept the majority's decision, so this poll is not very helpful as far as the chances for peace are concerned.

And Egypt is a democratic nation? I imagine the Palestinians are democratic than you all there. The vast majority of people in Egypt are against peace with Israel yet the government continues to have have peace with Israel.

Palestinains and Israelis can and would live in peace. The poll shows that the Majority of Palestinians want to live side by side in peace with the Israelis. if a similar Poll was taken in Israel. the results would be positive. that the majority of Israeli citizens also want to live side by side with the Palestains in peace. We pray for all the decendants of Abraham to live in peace. Every life is precious in God's sight. God loves you all and so do we.

Now that Arafat is gone, peace will happen. He was an impediment to the Palestinian Arab dreams and hopes for a better life.
