Jordan denies king plans Israel visit

A Jordanian official on Thursday denied Israeli reports that Jordan's King Abdullah II has agreed to visit Israel. King Abdullah of JordanIsraeli sources said the monarch had agreed in principle to come to Israel, but a date has not yet been finalized.

 

King Abdullah could visit as early as next week, the Tel Aviv-based Maariv daily reported Thursday.

 

The Jordanian king's last public visit to Israel was in August 2000.
