Palestinians responded Tuesday to Monday's night assassination raid in the Gaza Strip which left two Palestinians dead, with rocket attacks on southern Israel. 
Israeli authorities reported that its new "Red Dawn" alert system had identified a total of seven Qassam rockets launched by Palestinians in the northern part of the Strip.
Monday's attack by Israel was aimed at a leading Islamic Jihad member, as he traveled in his vehicle in the Jabalya refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. Another senior leader of the group had vowed revenge on Monday.
"This crime will not pass," warned Khaled Al Batsh, "and the occupation should be prepared for reactions from the Islamic Jihad armed wing," he told Reuters.
The two men killed were identified as Saeed Abu Al-Jedian and Akram Qadas, both members of Islamic Jihad's armed wing. A third man was critically wounded as well in the attack.
Meanwhile in the West Bank, Israeli soldiers arrested 11 Palestinians during overnight raids on Monday night near the towns of Hebron, Bethlehem, and in the town of Qalqilya.
Ten of the men were members of the Hamas faction, and another was part of the Tanzim faction.
Israeli troops also arrested 26 Jewish settlers in the West Bank for illegally entering the evacuated settlement of Sa-Nur in the northern region of the West Bank.
The settlement has been off limits to Jewish settlers since Israel evacuated it as part of the disengagement plan last August.
