Israeli forces killed three armed Palestinians on Sunday, one of them in a refugee camp in the occupied West Bank and two in the Gaza Strip, officials on both sides said.
In the northern West Bank town of Tulkarem, Israeli troops shot dead Mohammad Qozah, 25, of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, medics and Palestinian security sources said, according to AFP. An army spokeswoman said that troops had entered the Tulkarem refugee camp in search of two Palestinians and shot at the men as they tried to flee. One of the men died and the other was hurt and evacuated to hospital in Israel, she said.
Earlier Sunday, Israeli troops killed two Palestinians during a raid in the central Gaza Strip, local medical workers said. An Israeli spokeswoman said troops had spotted two men, one armed and the other equipped with ammunition. The soldiers opened fire at the pair when they came close to the troops.
Local residents said the two men were killed while Israeli forces operated close to the Mghazi refugee camp in the central part of the Gaza Strip. A spokesman in Gaza Strip said one of the men was a member of the Islamic Jihad and the other was aligned with the Popular Resistance Committees.
