“One Hundred Years of Singing” is the title of a singing project to be implemented by the Egyptian singer Ali al Haggar in a serious attempt to revive the original Egyptian singing time and select the most beautiful songs from it.
“The project aims at familiarizing the young generation with our Egyptian original singing heritage through the old songs after remaking their music in a modern manner,” al Haggar told the daily al Ahram.
He added, “the new project depends on four music distributors including Amir Abdel Majeed, Moody al Imam, Yahya al Masri and Mohammed Mustafa. More than one song by our old singers has been selected starting with late singer Mohammed Othman to date.” -- Albawaba.com
