‘Arab Fish Dream’: Kuwaiti play with new directing vision
The Kuwaiti play Holm al Samak al Arabi (the dream of the Arab fish) was well appreciated by those who watched it as it contained an experimentalism vision in which its director and writer, Hussein al Musallam was able to put an artistic touch that embodied the reality which the Arab nation is living.
The performance, which was held Tuesday night, contained a new directing vision as the actors and audience were all present on the stage at the same time, where also papers were distributed to the audience in an attempt by the director to create a interaction between him and the play.
Chairman of the youth theater at the Public Authority for Youth and Sports, Abdullah Abdel Rasoul told Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA) Wednesday that the play is the turnout of an actors workshop during which the youth were able to express their viewpoints regarding the fish death phenomenon, which Kuwait had witnessed last year.
He added, “matters develop until they reach the Arab man due to the deterioration of the Arab conditions.” He expressed his gratitude that the play was successful and received the approval of the audience. He also thanked all those who contributed in the work.
The play was attended by the deputy director of youth department at the public authority for youth and sports Nasser al Ayyar, the assistant secretary general of the culture and arts department at the National Council of Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) Bader al Rifai and several media figures – Albawaba.com
