The cast of the film al Saher (Magician) received invitations to participate in more than one international festival including Belgian and French festivals. The film also recorded a big success when it was screened during the Eid al Adha holiday in Egypt.

“The film’s theme does not include any political hints whether in the scenes of the Arabic horse or the magician character,” the film’s star Mahmoud Abdel Aziz told the daily al Gomhuria, indicating that the film featured models of people who live under the poverty line and who have the right to live. These include the retarded boy, carriage man and the magician who finds no job any more and fears for his poor and divorced daughter who lives the catastrophe of her son who lost his eyesight. These samples of people live in life with all its good and bad days.

“The characteristics of the magician in the film required me to live the magic life along with a real magician, so I requested the director Radwan al Kashef to bring an experienced magician. The director actually brought a real magician whose tools I used in shooting the film including the pigeons, handkerchiefs, colored rat, chains and copper tools. I also trained on the movements of magicians,” added Abdel Aziz -- Albawaba.com
