Since the airing of the TV drama “A’yna Qalbi”, the screenwriter Majdi Saber has been receiving an influx of invitations to give seminars on solutions to social problems that arise in our everyday life. The Egyptian daily, Al Akhbar, reported that Saber has so far received over 30 invitations to universities, associations, and athletic arenas.
Saber has declined any invitation until the second half of Ramadan, that way Yusra would have returned form Umra (Pilgrimage To Saudi Arabia), and the director would be finished shooting the scenes from his other drama “Juha Al Masri” (The Egyptian Juha).
Saber went on to comment that the drama did not suffice with only mentioning social problems instead it gave solutions on how to solve them. “Each problem needed different measures to solve it, depending on its seriousness,” he added.
Some of the problems that have risen so far in the drama is that of the consciousness of some architectural engineers. It displayed a number of engineers and how they were ready to cheat in the building foundations to make an extra buck on the side. When discovered certain legal actions were taken to punish perpetrators. Another problem the series dealt with is that of private lessons and the lack of proper education they indicate in schools. The issue of marriage took a large portion of the drama targeting cases of girls who think the train has passed them by, of divorced women who lose hope, and of widowed women and how society looks at them critically.
Many other issues are targeted and dealt with carefully, making “A’yna Qalbi” (Where is My Heart) a drama that is made for individual families and society as a whole.
