The artist Qasem Abed Al Rahim Hasan, known as Sha’bola, will appear in court 28 January to appeal a ruling against him for unpaid taxes.
The court has sentenced Sha’bola to a year in jail and set bail at 1,000 Egyptian pounds. He was also ordered to pay the amount owed to the tax department.
Sha’bola was accused of not paying taxes from 2001 until 2004, totaling 465,360 Egyptian pounds.
