18 Countries to Participate in al Bustan Int’l Music Fest

Art troupes from 18 countries will come to an old church in Lebanon Mountain to take part in the al Bustan International Festival of Music and the Arts which will be held between February 19-24, according to the daily al Hayat. 

This session of the festival will be held in a year, which the UN dedicated as the year of mountains. 

The organizing committee of the festival, 9 years since inception, Tuesday held a press conference at al Bustan Hotel’s Auditorium Hall in the Lebanese mountainous town of Beit Merry, which was attended by a number of journalists. 

The conference was preceded by screening a videocassette on Cinderella ballet performed by the National Theater troupe in Prague with music by Serge Brovokieve. The Staptamater anthem by Rossini is considered the liking point for the festival activities this year. The Lebanese Symphonic Troupe will perform Rossini’s work in collaboration with the Prague Chamber Orchestra also. The visiting Italian musician Paulo Olmi will lead the Staptamater, which is a widespread religious anthem. 

Despite the keenness of the festival’s officials on diversity and the international orientation of the festival, the Chec City of Prague participation, troupes and singers will be highlighted. Also, extensive vocal performance will be notable starting from duo singing to opera. Mozart music will be prominent in his musical play Don Geovani played by Warsaw Opera Troupe. This is in addition to a religious anthem and a piano concert.
