18 Singers to Perform at Arab Song Festival

The organizing committee of the third Arab Song Festival to be held in Doha, has set the beginning of next month the ultimatum to begin the first night concerts, according to the London based Arabic daily al Sharq al Awsat. 

The timing coincides with the time during which the Qatari Broadcasting Corporation, Sawt al Khaleej, will air the concert to be performed by the Arabs’ artist Mohammed Abdo marking the first voice to sing at the festival for the newly born station. 

Seven stars from Saudi Arabia will participate in the concert but the festival which will be opened by Mohammed Abdo alone. 

Singers who will participate at the second night (February 3) include Nabil Shaeil from Kuwait, Angham from Egypt and Abdel Majeed Abdulla from Saudi Arabia. 

The third night of the festival will witness the singers Thekra from Tunisia for the first time, Assil Abu Baker from Saudi Arabia and Abdulla al Rweished from Kuwait. At the fourth night singers Saber al Rubaai from Tunisia, Nawal from Kuwait and Rashed al Majed from Saudi Arabia will take their parts in the festival. 

Eleen Khalaf from Lebanon, Saad al Fahed from Qatar and Khaled Abdel Rahman and Salameh al Abdulla from Saudi Arabia will sing at the fifth night of the festival. 

At the sixth and concluding night singers Jawad al Ali, Eisa al Kbeisi from Qatar, Rabeh Saqer from Saudi Arabia and Ahlam from the United Arab Emirates will participate in singing. 

The committee gave this year the opportunity to new singers to participate in the festival for the first time including the Saudi singers Salameh al Abdulla and Khaled Abdel Rahman -- Albawaba.com
