The 10th Arab Music Festival will open with a bang on November 1 at the Cairo Opera House, and will continue for 10 days, with the participation of 26 stellar Arab singers, according to the daily Al Ahram.
The head of the festival committee, Ratibah Al Hafni, told the daily that “among the participants will be Sabah Fakhri from Syria and Galal Harb, Mohammed Amin, May Farouq, Afaf Radhi, Amal Maher, Ghada Ragab and Ahmed Al Sunbati from Egypt. This is in addition to Camellia Jubran from Palestine, Rajaa Bal Malih from Morocco, Thekra from Tunisia and Faridah from Iraq.”
One member of the committee, musician Hilmi Baker, said that 10 leading Arab musicians would be honored at the festival. These include the late artist Laila Murad, Naser Al Ansari, the festival visionary, poet Ahmed Shafiq Kamel, singer Sabah Fakhri, composer Ibrahim Ragab and Moroccan researcher Abdel Aziz Abdel Jalil.
Egyptian composer Ahmed Al Sunbati will participate in the festival, presenting two concerts in which he will portray two of the masterpieces of the late musician Riyadh Al Sunbati for the first time. The first concert will be held on November 5 at the Conference Hall in Alexandria and the second will be held on November 8.
“I'll present many artistic performances, including the songs Min Fi Al Gamal Addak (Who is Beautiful Like You?) composed by Riyadh Al Sunbati, and Ilah Al Kawn (Universe God), in addition to Ashwaq (Longing For) along with Abdel Halim Nwairah’s troupe led by Salah Ghubashi, said the artist – Albawaba.com
