Amman’s 9th Theatrical Days Festival will be launched on March 27, 2002 with 200 theater expert participants from 20 countries worldwide, according to the daily al Hayat.
The festival, which is considered as an international forum for independent theatrical troupes, will be organized by the Jordanian Fawanees Theatrical Troupe and the Egyptian Theatrical Warshah Troupe and will be held under the sponsorship of Greater Amman Municipality marking the anniversary of the International Theater Day. The festival is considered one of the most important municipality activities as part of its contribution to Amman activities as the capital of Arabic culture.
Apart from a number of specialized workshops in theater arts and an intellectual forum, the participation of a number of plays has been confirmed. These include Familia by Fadel al Jaaibi, al Majnoun (Insane) by Tawfiq al Jabali, Rasasah Fi al Qabb (Bullet in the Heart) by Hasan al Jraitly, Solo by Maet Troupe, al Far (Dissident) by Ahmed al A’ttar, Kahrab by Basem al Qahhar, A’shaa al Wadaa (Farewell Dinner) by Bassam Kousa, Beirut Sifran by Omar Rajeh. This is in addition to the plays Lucy al Marah al A’moudiyyah (Lucy the Perpendicular Woman) by Rojieh Assaf, al Shai by Yaacoub Ismael, al Raqs Bain al Mawta (Dance Between the Dead), a tour for four hours in the Shatilla Camp by Afraj and Catherine Biscovetch, Laila That al Barmoudah al Hamra by Ashraf al Awadi, Hamlet by the Swedish Halland Troupe and other artworks from Africa and Europe, the participation of which has not been confirmed yet -- Albawaba.com
