More than 65 clips and 15 production houses are participating in the second Video Clip Festival on April 12. Voting finished on March 20 in a poll on the Fair and Affair website.

The award ceremony will be held under the patronage of Information Minister Ghazi Aridi at Unesco Palace, Beirut and will be broadcast by Future Television.

According to Thisiscyberia.com, singers Ragheb Alameh and Elissa may be Lebanon's best hope, but the media company staging the second Video Clip Festival, Fair and Affair, is not giving away any clues about who the likely winners of this year’s awards.

The liberation of Lebanon and the second Iintifada receive special attention this year, as they played such an important role in the media last year. Many artists have written songs and dedicated them to the Palestinian cause in particular.

The Video Clip Festival recognizes talent across the Arab world, covering categories such as best concept, best directing, best editing and best special effects.

Last years’ winners included Kazem al-Saher’s song “Ana Wa Leila”, which picked up the overall first prize, while the award for best concept went to Rotana and ART TV for their video accompanying Assi al-Hellani’s song “Toul Omri Basma” – Albawaba.com
