Abd Al Fatah shocked with MTV Award nomination
Young Moroccan singer Abd Al Fatah Al Guraini said that his nomination for the international MTV Award has shocked him. The singer stated that the nomination made him think more carefully about his upcoming album, which he is currently working on, not wanting people to doubt the legitimacy of his nomination.
According to the London base Elaph, during an exclusive interview with Abd Al Fatah, he said he could not believe the news that he is the only Arab singer nominated for the prestigious award and does not know the criteria used to nominate singers.
The singer revealed that the organizers of the MTV Awards notified him that he is nominated for the award and until this point he is in a state of disbelief. Abd Al Fatah said that he truly does not know why he was nominated out of all of the Arab singers especially due to the fact that he had never aimed for the award or worked at getting nominated. He added that he knows that some of the conditions of being nominated are based on the singer’s looks, record sales and number of hits and downloads over the internet.
On a different note, Abd Al Fatah said that he had numerous offers to host different programs on television, but he had turned all of them down. He stressed that he wants to be focused on his music only and truly believes it’s where he is best at. He added that if he ever considers turning to television the opportunities are there.
