Abu Rayya Says Thanks, But No Thanks to ‘Alo Ya Ard’
Egyptian actor Kamal Abu Rayya has sent his regrets for not being able to appear in the play Alo Ya Ard (Hello, Land), following in the footsteps of Farouq Al Fishawi and Said Saleh, according to the UAE daily Al Bayan.
Abu Rayya expressed dissatisfaction with the part, and disagreed with the terms of payment and advertisement, the reasons that led Saleh and Fishawi to reject the role.
Director Hisham Jumaa has reportedly given the less-than-prized role to Ahmed Salama.
The play has faced the same problem finding a female lead, as both Pussi and Eman turned it down. The puzzled director is still searching for an actress.
The play, written by Nabil Badran, is being produced by the Artistic House for Theatre and will be performed at the Modern Theatre – Albawaba.com
