Adel Imam depicts the suffering of Arabs on the big screen

Egyptian prominent comedian actor Adel Imam is currently holding work sessions with his son director Rami Imam and journalist Yousef Maati in order to prepare for his upcoming new film. The new film Adel is in the process of making will revolve around the life of an ordinary Arab man who faces hostility from the enemy who occupies his land, and tries to stand up to it till his last breath. 

 

According to the London based Elaph, Imam thought of the story from his personal experience as a UN Goodwill Ambassador, and has in fact seen first hand what people go through when an enemy is occupying their land. Imam was severely affected by prisoners of war and the kind of treatment they had received, and felt the best way to send the message of those unfortunate is through making a film about their lives. It was revealed that Imam's brother Issam Imam has been nominated to produce the film. 

 

The special screening of the Egyptian film “A Dutch Experience” starring Adel and Lebanese singer/actress Nicole Saba has witnessed tremendous success in Lebanon. Among the guests at the screening were the Lebanese Minister of Information and most of the Arab ambassadors in Lebanon all made it a point to be part of the special event, which took place at the UNESCO hall in Beirut.  

 

The Egyptian ambassador held a special welcoming party at Egyptian Embassy, after the screening, in honor of Adel. Adel and Nicole were present at the special screening, which witnessed an audience of over 5 thousand and wide media coverage all eager to bring the event live.  

 

The film is a satirical comedy which revolves around a father, played by Adel, of four adolescent college boys who attempts to raise his children in the right manner making them responsible young men.  

 

Throughout the course of events in the film, Adel becomes a Minister a position that leads his sons to try and find every mean possible making it work to their advantage. Nicole, a former member of the Lebanese band "The Four Cats", will play the role of a European from Denmark who comes to Egypt to do research and finds herself in the home of Adel and his four sons. Disputes begin between Adel and his son on who will win Nicole’s heart.  

 

The film directed by young director Ali Idris, costars Egyptian actors Ahmad Ratib, Foad Khalil, Khaled Sarhan, and Tamer Abdul Mun’em. In the film Adel decided to nominate Ali to direct his film instead of his son director Rami Imam.  

 

Nicole had stressed that her role in the film, which was as a European woman who came to Egypt, called for the least amount of cloths to be worn in order to stress the amount of freedom the West has. Concerning the sexual topics tackled in the film, Nicole expressed that the film is about two cultures colliding and the talk of sexuality was done in order to educate saying that there was not one obscene in the film but rather the entire film was daring, but at the same time respectful.  

 

She added that she knows her nomination for the role in the film was made based on her outer looks, but she has no problem with that since the outcome of the film proves that not looks alone brought her success, but her talent to act. –Albawaba.com
