Egyptian prominent comedian-actor Adel Imam is currently in the process of shooting the first scenes of his new film “Arees Amn El Dawleh” (Groom of the State’s Security), which is directed by Ali Idrees and written by Yousef Maati. Egyptian actors Mustafa Shabaan and Hala Shiha are to costar alongside Adel in the film.

According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, the film, which is a comedy, revolves around the story of a businessman’s daughter who falls in love and marries an ordinary police officer and the couple encounter many comical circumstances throughout their attempt to make it. The scenes are to be shot in one of Cairo’s grand hotels and then the cast is scheduled to fly off to Lebanon where the remaining scenes will be shot.

Adel is also holding intensive working sessions with Egyptian author Waheed Hamed, to choose a new movie fit to compete with other actors by the end of the next year. This comes at the same time that Egyptian comedian Mohammed Hineidi is intending to release his new movie (Abu Al Arab) father of Arabs, which he chose out of 35 other scenarios that were given to him.

The new movie for Adel Imam will be costarred by a Lebanese actress in addition to an Italian one. Adel is being secretive about the details of the movie, which is expected to be a satire of politics revolving around a decent politician who faces great pressure to privatize the river of Nile. Then the water would be sold to the public in US Dollars. This was what attracted Adel to the idea of the movie, the fact that it contained a direct criticism of the government.

recently, Imam admitted that he had shed tears at while watching coverage about the capture of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. Adel said that the sight of Saddam, which could only be compared to a beggar, made him really cry. The actor stressed that tears came down not to indicate that he supports Saddam, but rather it reminded him of the current situation in the Arab world, which he sees as deteriorating. Adel made his comment during one of his speeches at a UN conference. –Albawaba.com
