Adel Imam refuses to work with Yousif Shaheen

Egyptian famous comedian actor Adel Imam describes the Arab situation and what is going on in the area as very hurtful while talking at a press conference at the Radisson Sass in Amman Jordan. Imam calls on all Arabs to shift their interests into studying and making scientific research in order to make themselves better.
According to the Qatari daily Al Raya, Imam goes on how he felt very sad when he saw brothers in Palestine killing each other and he also cried when he saw the killing scenes. He adds that the Israeli tanks entering Ramalah from one side and Palestinians killing each other from another side is too much to handle.
He also adds at the press conference, which he held before his play “Body Guard” that was shown at the annual Jerash Festival, that the Arab world will not regain its rights and become strong unless they get educated.
Imam moves on by saying yes he’s an Arab actor who cares for Arab causes, yet he is not trying to gain any political position. Imam compares art performances before and now and says that in the past there was no high budget set, yet now there is no education or any scientific research in it. In order to improve this part of the world people need to be educated.
Imam’s last film “Murjan Ahmad Murjan” discusses the issue of education and it is important. Imam’s character was a rich businessman who lacked education and was forced to go back to school to get a degree.
Imam is also a UN Goodwill Ambassador for refugees. When Imam was asked if Palestinian refugees had the right to go back to their country or get compensated for their lands that was stripped from them, Imam stated that every refugee has the right of a homeland.
On the other hand Imam ends his conference by saying that he doesn’t like to work with famous producer Yousif Shaheen. Imam and Shaheen had an argument after they both have decided to work on the film “Hadota Masryeh” (Egyptian Story), and since then the actor made it clear that he has no intention of ever working with Yousif.
