Young Egyptian actor Ahmad Al Sakka is scheduled to begin shooting the scenes of his upcoming film “The Italian War”, which was previously called “Remote Control”, by the end of the month of February. Ahmad had recently returned from <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Italy along with scenarist Hazem Al Hadid and director Ahmad Saleh to decide on the locations they will use to shoot the half of the scenes that take place in Italy.
According to the Egyptian based weekly, Al Nogoom, the change of names for the film came after a request by the entire cast, who felt that “The Italian War” is a more attractive title for the movie. Recently, Al Sakka had agreed with the director to nominate Lebanese singer Mariam Fares for the leading female role. Al Sakka has been holding extensive work sessions with the scenarist to finalize the final details of the film.
The remaining cast of the will be young Egyptian actress Hala Shiha, actor Khaled Abu Al Najja, Khaled Saleh, Majdi Kamli, and actor Hussain Yousef in his first appearance away from religious dramas and will play the role of Ahmad’s father in the film.
Negotiations are currently being held between the producer of the film and Mariam. The film will be Mariam’s debut into the acting world, and it has been revealed that the leading female role must be a singer because the events of the film include a song sung by the lead actress.
