Moroccan breakthrough artist Ahmad Sultan will battle it out against Rihanna for the title of Best Worldwide Act at next month’s MTV European Music Awards.

Sultan beat off competition from north east India’s five-piece Alobo Naga & the Band as well Nigerian singer D’Banj, known for the international summer hit ‘Oliver Twist’ to become the Best Africa-India-Middle East Act official entry.
Now he will go up against the final Worldwide Act nominees including Dima Bilan (Europe), Han Geng (Asia Pacific), Rihanna (North America) and Restart (Latin America).
For the past six weeks, MTV have given fans around the world a chance to vote for their favourite hometown artists, all to help that local act secure the nomination and earn a chance to represent their respective region at this year’s EMA.
More than 160 artists from every corner of the world have enjoyed the MTV EMA spotlight as part of the Worldwide Act voting competition, and
Sultan was announced as the winner for Best Africa-India-Middle East Act on Tuesday.
Starting October 30, the final five will go head-to-head in one last round of voting in the Worldwide Act category. Voting for EMA categories is open now until Saturday, November 10, and the Worldwide Act winner will be announced at the show in Frankfurt.
