Doctors supervising the health condition of Egyptian prominent actor Ahmad Zaki have agreed to his request of returning to the studios to continue filming his upcoming film "Rasa'el Al Bahr" (Letters from Sea). The actor's doctors agreed on the condition that they accompany him during the filming of the scenes and continue his treatment.
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, producer of the film, Hussein Al Qala, visited Ahmad at Dar Al Foad hospital in Cairo to wish him fast recovery, and the actor expressed his wished to continue filming the scenes in the nearest time possible. The producer assured that he will finalize all the details of the film to begin shooting the scenes, adding that Ahmad is spending his time in the hospital reading the script of the film and relaxing.
The actor's illness had caused worry among a number of directors and producers who had planned for him to star in their films. Ahmad was scheduled to begin shooting scenes for two other films aside from "Letters from Sea) before he fell ill and was diagnosed with lung cancer.
Ahmad is scheduled to leave the hospital today and will return next week to resume treatment. Last week, Egyptian Minister of Health, Dr. Mohammad Awad Taj Al Din, announced that Zaki, who was undergoing treatment for lung cancer in France, will return to Egypt. Mohammad added that Ahmad’s doctor in France assured him that the actor’s depression and tension have completely disappeared, after he was unable to fall asleep for some time unless he was given medication. It has been decided that Zaki’s medical treatment in Cairo will be done by specialists in cancer tumours.
Ahmad expressed his utmost gratitude towards the entire Egyptian population and specifically for President Hosni Mubarak who has been following Ahmad’s condition by the minute and made sure all the necessary arrangements are taken care of to ensure he receives the best treatment. The actor also revealed that its God’s will that he encounters such an illness, but he is confident that due to his strong belief, he will overcome it. –Albawaba.com
