Amidst the joy Egyptians were feeling for the return of prominent Egyptian actor Ahmad Zaki to the scenes and appearing to be regaining his health, the actor shocked everyone when he encountered a stroke in his left leg earlier this week and was immediately taken to Dar Al Foad hospital. According to the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />London based daily, Dar Al Hayat, Ahmad’s doctor Yasser Abdul Qader revealed that the actor would remain in hospital for at least one week after which he may return to complete filming the scenes of his upcoming film “Haleem”, which he had been working on shooting the past two weeks. Ahmad requested of director Sharif Arafeh to resume filming the scenes of the film that do not include him in order not to encounter any more delay.
The cast of the film revealed that in the scenes that Ahmad had already filmed for the new movie he has played his role, which is that of the late Egyptian legend Abdul Halim Hafez, to perfection and it seems as if the late singer was brought back to life.
The first film about the life of the late Egyptian legendary singer Abdul Halim Hafez has finally took effect as Ahmad Zaki, who plays the role of Abdul Halim, began shooting the first scenes. A huge press conference with the presences of thousands of journalists and stars from around the Arab world was held for the launching of the film “Halim”.
The conference was Ahmad’s first public appearance in over a year after his health began deteriorating from lung cancer. During the actor’s speech, he was unable to hold in his tears and the crowd began applauding for over 7 minutes as a gesture of respect for Ahmad. Some of the guests that were present were prominent Lebanese singer Majida Al Roumi, who will be singing the opening song of the film, and Syrian actors Jamal Sulieman and Sulaf Fougharji, who will be acting alongside Ahmad in the film.
