Producer Muhsin Jaber, known for adopting Egyptian singers, has pulled out of the satellite music channel “Melody” and decided to create three new music channels, one of which will be headed by a group of singers from all around the Arab world. The first, which is set to be on air mid-January, will be called “Mazika”. Advertisements are already in progress for the new channel that is to be followed by its sequel “Mazika 2”, according to the Saudi based daily Al Watan.

Managing engineer Majed Habeeb for the channel, which will air Arabic and Western music videos, has commented that a number of English engineers are currently training employees how to run the channel and equipment.

Muhsin felt it was to his benefit to own his personal channels and for that reason he pulled out of “Melody”, and announced the second channel under the name of “Fananeen” (Stars) will go on air during the summer. A number of singers and actors from around the Arab world such Amr Diab, Hani Shaker, Alissa, Mustafa Amar, Muna Zaki, Mohammad Huneidi, Maiadeh Hinawi and others are to be the sole owners of the second channel. A huge celebration is to take place during the grand opening of the channel in the presence of a large number of singers and actors. –Albawaba.com
