Syrian actress Amal Arafeh revealed that she does not mind working in the cinema, television series, or on stage, stressing that she is different from others while acting in the sense that she is very romantic. She added that her passion will always be musical performance and singing.
According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, in a personal interview Amal revealed that she despises men who are greedy, stupid, and cold. She added that even if she was sitting in a waiting room across such men she could not take it.
Amal's most recent work is the TV drama series “Thikrayat Al Zaman Al Kadem” (Memories of the Upcoming Era). Amal played the role of a young lady who was taken out of Lebanon and driven to Syria during the Israeli attacks on Lebanon.
The drama is composed of 30 episodes in which the Palestinian crisis is portrayed in full details. The effect of the Israeli occupation of Palestine will be tackled with the incorporation of political and social events dramatically filmed in order to send out a meaningful message to viewers.
Previously, Amal and her husband, Abdul Mun’em Amaieri, costarred in a social TV drama 'Imr'aa Fi Althil" (A Woman in the Shadow), which deals with the unfair laws towards women's basic rights. In the drama, Amal plays the leading role of Nada who fights the unjust and harsh conditions of life she is faced with from a social and judicial point.
Throughout the course of events in the series, Nada falls in love with a young man, and ends up marrying him and having a son. A short time into the marriage the husband (played by Abdul Mun'em) abandons his wife and child and is no where to be found. At this point problems begin to flood Nada's life as she struggles to survive and raise her son as a single mother.
The big surprise of the drama comes when the husband returns and demands custody of his son. He then takes his wife to court, and an unjust court decision grants him full custody of his son, disregarding the fact that he had deserted his son for no reason and the mother's hardships while raising her son.
Arafeh and Abdul Mun’em were married in early January 2003, after the couple had previously announced their engagement only a short time before. Amal had been working hard trying to complete the scenario for a new TV drama before her wedding. – Albawaba.com
