Lebanese singer Amal Hijazi recently revealed her true feeling toward other female singers, along with other personal secrets, during an interview with the weekly Arabic magazine Sayidaty.
Amal stated that she is on good terms with most female singers and many of them are her friends, except Lebanese singer Alissa. She and Alissa are not on speaking terms and she does not believe this matter will change any time soon, but despite this fact she wishes Alissa the best.
Amal stressed that she is not enemies with Alissa, stating, “We are merely two people who do not mix with one another, and if we by chance meet we just say ‘hello.’”
Amal stated that she does not compete with any specific singer, but rather is inspired by the success of others and strives to always do her best.
In regard to her love life, Amal admitted that she was involved with her business manager, Sharbil, but they have parted, and not because of religious differences as was rumored in numerous tabloids. Amal intends on ending their business relationship as well, and is seeking a new manager.
Rumors claimed the reason behind their breakup was that Amal’s family refused to consent to a civil instead of a religious ceremony. Each hoped to have the ceremony according to his or her own faith; Amal is Muslim and Sharbil is Christian, and the two could not come to terms.
“I am still hopeful I will meet the right man, and once I do my life will be complete from all angles,” Amal stated.
Amal also revealed that she has kept a low profile as of late due to the tragic conditions that have clouded over the region, specifically the recent assassination of Lebanese journalist Jubran Tweiny.
In regard to the new rush of singers hitting the scene, Amal questioned the longevity of their fame, suggesting that their popularity is more based on looks than real talent.
