Amr Diab to be the highlight of Jordan's Jerash summer festival

Egyptian singer Amr Diab has given his initial acceptance to be part of the prestigious Jordanian Jarash summer festival, to be among the large list of prominent Arab singers who will be participating in the big event. Amr's last appearance in the annual festival was in the late 1980's. 

 

According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, Amr has agreed to hold one concert at the festival but the date has not yet been decided on. The festival, which has gained popularity worldwide, will feature local and international artists.  

 

The Music Production Company Rotana held a press conference in which it officially announced Diab's admittance to their team. A large number of media representatives were invited to the big event that took place at a grand hotel in Beirut-Lebanon.  

 

Amr had broken his contract with his previous production company Alam El Phan, which he had been a part of since the beginning of his career. Well-known TV announcer Jumana Abu Obeid was been chosen to make all the formal introductions at the big event. Amr has made all the necessary arrangements to be present at the press conference, in order to show his gratification for being part of the Rotana family of singers.  

 

Diab very recently released his newest music video "Ana Aish" (I'm Alive), which is part of his latest album "Alim Albi Al Gharam" (Teach My Heart to Love). Two months ago, the song was filmed by English director Stewart Gosling, who directed many songs for well-known international singers, in London 

 

Amr's latest album "Alim Albi Al Gharam" features twelve songs, which were written by a number of prominent poets. The new album features Amr in a new look and music styles. He combined Tango, Jazz, Techno, and eastern genres all in one. “Alim Albi Al Gharam” is shot in London and will be launched on the new Mazzika TV channel.  

 

Amr is known to be the highest paid Arab artist in the Middle East. His last wage for his album was over two million US dollars. It is known that Amr does not accept less than 60 thousands Egyptian pounds for performing in weddings or any other private party. –Albawaba.com
