Amr Diab's Comeback with 'There's Something About You'
After emerging from the 40 days mourning period for the passing of his mother, Egyptian super star Amr Diab resurfaces with his new single, "there's something about you".
Written by Tamer Hussien, composed by a grieving Amr Diab, distributed by Adel Haqi and produced by one of the mobile phone companies contracted with Rotana, this song is proving to be popular hours after its YouTube debut. Although the single was officially released just the day before yesterday, it has received its weight in internet hits already.
Today the "official release" of a song entails being able to listen to the complete song, in whatever quality, as well as having access to download it as a ring tone to your phone. A low grade version of "there's something about you" was uploaded to YouTube, and is readily availabe as a ring tone.
This is considered to be the third time that Amr Diab releases a single in this format, in keeping with the musically shifting times. The first two singles, released as it were by YouTube, were "He deserves it" and "This is our dream". The latter fast-hit scored the highest recorded downloaded ring tones of Rotana's musical output.
Rumors of the superstar's retirement abounded earlier this year. They were however denied by Amr, who assured his fans that he would not retire. By contrast, Amr Diab is currently running a very active schedule since returning to his fans, and he has a full lineup in concerts. The first one is set for Moscow early May and the second one in the American University of Cairo May 11th.
