Egyptian superstar Amr Diab demanded three million Egyptian pounds as a condition to accept the leading role in an upcoming Ramadan radio drama series.

The entire budget for the drama was half a million Egyptian pounds, hence Amr’s demands were not met.

According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, another radio station is negotiating with the singer to star in their radio drama series, written by renowned director Midhat Al Adel.

Amr has postponed the release of his new album, scheduled for this summer, due to the recent tragic terrorist attack in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt and the passing of the Saudi King Fahed.

Amr also apologized to a number of concert sponsors for being unable to hold any live performances, explaining that he is filled with too much sorrow over the conditions of the region.

Amr had spent endless hours recording the songs for his upcoming album, in an effort to meet the deadline set by his production company ‘Rotana.’
