Amr Diab suffered heart problems despite constant denial

Egyptian singer Amr Diab has repeatedly tried to deny encountering heart problems fearing that confirming the fact would negatively affect the image he has made of himself. He constantly tries to appear as a healthy and energetic singer, who despite being at the age of 40 is able to look 20 years younger always acquiring a young and fresh look to impress his audience.  

 

But despite his denial, close family members and friends have assured that the singer has in fact encountered several heart problems leading him to be hospitalized, and was only release after receiving very strict orders from his doctors to rest and keep away from exercise or extra activity that may tire him. 

 

Diab had previously announced that the circulating rumors about him encountering a heart attack are untrue and stressed that he is enjoying a perfectly healthy lifestyle. The singer denied that his health condition was the reason behind his cancellation of a Dubai concert, which he was scheduled to hold, and stressed that the cancellation was due to minor disputes between him and his previous production company Alam El Phan. 

 

Amr revealed that he is living a normal life with his family practicing his daily exercise with no problems. Amr added that he will not allow these kinds of rumors to take up any of his precious time, stressing that his schedule is has no room for such nonsense.  

 

Recently, it was rumored that Amr was hit with a second heart attack, canceling his previous plans to hold a concert in Dubai, and that the incident marks the second time the singer is faced with heart problems, since he has moved to his new residence in Lebanon. It was added that the singer had refrained from giving out any details regarding his health condition and is following doctor’s orders and avoiding any extensive exercise or extra activity. And that his doctors had him to stay at home for some time and give his body time to relax.  

 

Amr has donated 300 thousands Egyptian pounds to the children hospital project in Cairo. The administration of the new hospital has decided to name one of the wings of the hospital Abudl Basit Diab, after Amr’s father as a way of showing their appreciation towards the singer.  

 

It was revealed that this is not the first time Amr makes such a generous donation to the hospital, but has in fact held a special concerts with all proceeds going to the hospital. In addition, Amr has made it a point to give a portion of proceeds of previously held concerts to the hospital.  

 

A number of Egyptian singers have held performances with proceeds going to the building of the new hospital. The total cost to build the hospital is around 70 million US dollars. So far a total of 50 million US dollars has been collected over the past two years.  

 

Songs for Diab have come to be the most common music heard in Turkish coffee houses, nightclubs, and retail stores. In addition to the wide spread of Amr’s music all around Turkey, the compositions of some of the song is many cases taken for songs sung in Turkish.  

 

It has been revealed that Amr’s song “Habibi Ya Habib Albi” (My Love) from his latest album holds the number place for cellular phones ring tones in Turkey.  

 

Amr's latest album "Alim Albi Al Gharam" features twelve songs, which were written by a number of prominent poets. The new album features Amr in a new look and music styles. He combined Tango, Jazz, Techno, and eastern genres all in one. “Alim Albi Al Gharam” is shot in London. –Albawaba.com
