Egyptian pop star Amr Diab has recently started recording the first song for a new album with a 2002 release date, for fear of being busy with shooting his upcoming movie in the next few months.
The song Diab is currently recording was written by Baha Eddin Mohammed, was put to music by Khaled Ezz and was re-mixed by Hamid Al Shaeri.
Meanwhile, the artist is reading three scripts in order to choose the best for his new film, which will mark his return to the big screen after a long absence.
The movie will be produced by the same people who handle his albums.
Diab, according to the Arabic daily Al Sharq Al Awsat, is denying rumors about disputes between him and his producer Mohsen Jaber.
On his part, Jaber denies rumors that Diab has struck a new deal with another company, claiming that his agreement with the singer is for five years, and covers the production of everything from movies to albums.
Diab’s latest movie is Dehk Wa Gadd Wa Hobb (Laughter, Seriousness, Playing and Love), in which he appears along with Yusra and Omar Sharif – Albawaba.com
