Egyptian singer Amr Diab was due to release his newest music video "Ana Aish" (I'm Alive), which is part of his latest album "Alim Albi Al Gharam" (Teach My Heart to Love), produced by his production company Alam Al Fan with the grand opening of their new music satellite channel Mazzika, but the current conditions in the region altered all his plans. Amr who owns a large share of the channel's shares, was forced to postpone his previously scheduled release until conditions cooled down and things returned back to normal.
According to the London based Elaph, a copy of the video clip was released in full over the Internet to satisfy Amr's anxious fans who were waiting in agony for the release of the song.
Two months ago, the song was filmed by English director Stewart Gosling, who directed many songs for well-known international singers, in London.
Amr's latest album "Alim Albi Al Gharam" features twelve songs, which were written by a number of prominent poets. The new album features Amr in a new look and music styles. He combined Tango, Jazz, Techno, and eastern genres all in one. “Alim Albi Al Gharam” is shot in London and will be launched on the new Mazzika TV channel.
Egyptian singer Amr Diab has recently completed his autobiography which consists of his musical journey with all the hardships encountered from the early eighties up to today. He also talked about the agonies he went through by not being famous singing at nightclubs and the tight budget he was forced to live on which in most cases led him to borrow from friends and family.
Amr will present his biography in the form of a TV series on the new music satellite channel Mazika, which is owned by producer Muhsin Jaber in addition to Amr holding a percentage of the shares, in 25 episodes narrated by Amr himself. Amr previously refused all offers he had received by a number of stations to buy the rights to his life story.
The president of the Middle East radio station in Egypt underwent negotiations with the singer to accept the leading role in a new radio drama to be aired next Ramadan (the Muslim fasting month) directed by Hussein Ibrahim. Hussein revealed that Amr gave his initial acceptance and preparations are underway for finding a suitable script.
After returning home to Cairo from a tour around the Arab world, Diab began preparations for the filming of two songs in the form of video clips from his latest album. The first song “Kinzi” (My Treasure) will be a special dedication to his daughter Kinzi, which is to be directed by Sherif Arafeh.

His new album features al Mizmar (an eastern musical instrument similar to the flute) to the outside world in a modern style particularly after he included the Tabla (drum) in his song “Habibi Wala Ala Baloh” (My Love is Not Paying Attention). The new album will include music close to Muwashahat (Terza Merza). Diab has been working with poet Ayman Bahgat Amar on his new song Min Haqqi (It is My Right) through which he wants to convey a clear, true and interpretive message that Palestine is an Arab country and Jerusalem is an Arab city and both belong to Arabs. –Albawaba.com
