Egyptian singers Angham and Shireen Ahmad will join forces for the first time throughout both their histories and sang a new operetta together with a number of other singers. The operetta was recorded in Egypt and is a special dedication for the Egyptian October victory over Israel thirty-one years ago.
According to the London based Elaph, Egyptian singers Ali Al Hajjar, Mohammad Al Hilo and Khaled Saleem sang alongside Shireen and Angham and had underwent extensive rehearsals to have the song ready in time.
Angham has begun preparations for her upcoming album, marking her first under the production of Rotana after leaving her previous production company Alam El Phan. It has been revealed that Angham is also holding extensive working sessions with Lebanese composer Ziad Boutros for a new song that will be sung in the Lebanese accent.
Angham plans on including a variety of songs in both the Egyptian and Lebanese accent to make her new album a success. Professional photographer Micky is due in Cairo in the upcoming few days in order to shoot the cover of Angham's new album.
Recently, Shireen had announced that she will not concern herself with the lawsuit filed against her by her former producer, Hamdi Ahmad, and will leave the matter to her personal lawyer to handle. The singer stressed that she is currently too busy with her new album to think about such cases or worry herself about the lawsuit.
A Cairo court has released a verdict ordering Shireen to pay a fine of one million Egyptian pounds to retired singer and producer Hamdi, who also founded the band Masrawieh and owner of Cassette Company. Ahmad had instituted legal proceedings against Shireen accusing her of not fulfilling the terms of a contract singed between them. Ahmed was the first one to discover her talent and produced her fist album sponsoring all her work until she was well known.
Shireen rewarded him by signing with another production company ignoring him totally. Ahmed filed the lawsuit against her demanding she pay a penalty and another million EGP as compensation to all his financial and emotional loss. Ahmed also warned the Egyptian musicians association to take all legal actions against Shireen according to his lawsuit, the thing that means canceling her membership from the association.
Shireen has stressed that she refuses to waste her time listening to rumors of her sudden breakup with fiancé Issam, and insists on focusing only on her career. The singer had been working extensively for long hours in order to complete her upcoming new album for the year 2005, and has in fact recorded five out of eight songs from the album. -Albawaba.com
