Angham asks “Has it been hard on you?”

Egyptian superstar Angham is finishing a new song in the ‘Khaliji’ (Gulf countries dialect), “Daqat Aleek” (Has It Been Hard on You) for her new Khaliji album.
The lyrics were written by Khaled Al Marikhi. The romantic song is about guilt, including the line “Daqat Aleek O Ma Laqit Ila Ana…” (Has It Been Hard On You, And You Find No One But Me To blame For Your Misery!).
Recently on the entertainment show “Waqif Ya Zaman” (Time Standing Still Angham discussed her childhood with host Wisam Bridi.
Angham, born in Alexandria Egypt, first appeared as a singer in 1987 under the supervision of her father. She also talked about her experience acting in the theater. She starred in the play “Laila Min Alf Laila” (A Night From Thousand Nights) and later in “Rasasah Fel Al Qalb” (A Bullet In The Heart) with Egyptian singer Ali Al Hajar.
Angham released her first album when she was only 15-years old, and became the most successful girl in Egypt during the1980’s.
She has been the subject of countless tabloid stories, most recently about her divorce from Kuwaiti Fahed and their custody battle for their children.
Angham’s ongoing dispute with her father, musician Muhammad Ali Suleiman, who she claims is jealous of her success, has been a favored story.
Angham confessed that she is grateful to her father, because he was there for her in the beginning of her journey and helped her become famous. Angham has no connection with her father now, yet she has a great relationship with her mother, who has been supportive during her divorce.
During the show Angham sang “Wahashtini Ya Waladi” (I Miss You My Son) and she then talked about her relationship with her sons, and said she would do anything to protect them.
Angham said that she believes in the evil eye and hates gossiping.
