Arab Idol 2 recap: Horror and hilarity in final round of auditions
In this week's round of Arab Idol 2 auditions, the glamorous judging panel jetted off to Cairo and Dubai in their final search for the region's hottest untapped talent.
With the competition about to enter it's second stage, the pressure was on for contestants to impress. But along with the big voices came the usual round of big losers.
This week, the celebrity judges got more than they bargained for when wannabe singer, Sami, took to the stage. The panel might have thought the tuneless hopeful's audition was bad, but it wasn't a patch on the evil glare he shot them when he was turned down. More used to loving gazes from adoring fans, the dirty look left Lebanese lovely, Nancy Ajram, jumping from her seat in fear. But even a look that could kill couldn't bag Sami a slot in the next round as he was sent packing.
Luckily some light relief soon came in the form of hysterical hopeful, Ahmad, whose whacky looks and funny voice left the judges and the audience in fits of laughter.
While picky panelist, Hassan Al Shafei, proved hard to impress as usual, the UAE's favorite bitchy star, Ahlam, was keen to keep hold of as many of her fellow countrymen as possible in the Dubai auditions.
But, sadly for Ahlam, while this week's auditions might have taken place in Dubai and Cairo, most of the successful contestants came from other countries in the region.
With the auditions over and the talentless losers and unlucky wannabes out of the running, the competition is set to heat up this weekend.
