Syrian singer Asalah Nasri released her latest album "Kad Al Huroof" (As Much as the Letters) in stores around the Arab world, which is a combination of different styles like Egyptian, Syrian and Khaliji (Gulf). The singer made it a point to have the songs in the album vary in style in order to please a larger number of listeners.
According to the London based Elaph, Asalah worked with some of the most prominent poets and composers in the Arab world, and spent a lot of efforts in making sure the album is flawless. Asalah is hopeful that the release will gain success and suit the tastes of all her fans.
Recently, Saudi singer Mohammad Abdo and Nasri met in Lebanon where they discussed implementing a previous aspiration of working together. Abdo had Asalah listen to the song "Awqat" (Times), composed by him and which is the song she will sing.
Asalah expressed her eagerness and likeness towards the song. The two had also sung a duet while in Beirut at a private concert. Abdo had said that he wanted to compose a song for Asalah due to her extraordinary talent in singing. He added that the song is a gift for Asalah to show his appreciation for her outstanding capability in giving meaning to what she sings.
Asalah has recently completed the shooting of her upcoming music video for the hit single "Misheet Sineen" (I Walked for Years) during her stay in Beirut. The singer said she chose Lebanon to shoot the clip for its beautiful scenery and romantic atmosphere. Prominent director Said Al Marouq directed the clip for Asalah with the assistance of known make-up artist Bassam Fatooh. The new album for Asalah is due to be released in the very near future along with the new music video.
