Assi Hilani checks on his mother
After a short absence from Lebanon during the war with Israel, Lebanese singer Assi Hilani has returned home to his town of Al Hilanieh through Syria to check on his family and his mother specifically after the war ended.
The singer wanted to ensure his mother was alright, especially after her health condition suddenly deteriorated and she was transferred to hospital.
According to the London based Elaph, Assi’s hometown as was the case with most villages in the South of Lebanon was subject to severe Israeli strikes and his family was forced to flee to Beirut to find safety.
During the war, Assi had held a number of performances in Egypt and Algeria in order to raise money for Lebanese victims.
Before the war had started, Assi had completed recording the songs for his upcoming album "Fi Marfa' Ainak" (At an Eye Glance.)
The album features ten songs, one being the poem "Fi Marfa' Ainak", which is written by the prominent Nizar Qabani and which the singer purposely chose as the title of the album.
