Lebanese television broadcaster Tony Khalifa, who hosts the weekly program "Li Man Yajro’ Fakat" (For Those Who Dare Only) revealed that one of the episodes may not be aired due to a massive argument that broke out between two stars during the recording of the episode.
Sources have revealed that that fight erupted between Lebanese singers Assi Hilani and Mohammad Iskandar.
The UAE based daily, Al Bayan, reported that the argument was over whether director Simone Asmar had given songs to Assi, which were originally supposed to be given to Mohammad, because he thought they would be more successful in Assi’s voice. This created tension between the two singers, and eventually a fight broke out, including name calling and personal insults.
Sources claim that Assi demanded that the episode not be aired, since it will negatively affect his reputation and his career.
Assi has completed recording almost 20 new songs, and will choose the most appropriate ones to include in his upcoming album. The singer will finalize his selection after the holy month of Ramadan, and the album is scheduled to be released at the beginning of the new year. He is currently holding negotiations with ‘Melody Production Company’ for the album, including five new music videos.
The singer’s contract with Rotana ended with the release of his latest album, "Izgheereh El Dinia" (It is a Small World), that has enjoyed tremendous success. The video for "Habibi Ya Nasini" aired exclusively on Rotana’s satellite music channel.
Hilani has also joined a number of international stars in a new awareness campaign to fight poverty and hunger around the world, in collaboration with the United Nations World Food Program (UNWFP).
